Achievements

Dr. Bhuvan Nagpal has built a dynamic academic and scientific profile at the intersection of oral and maxillofacial pathology, head and neck oncopathology, clinical biochemistry, laboratory medicine, medico-legal diagnostics, forensic odontology, artificial intelligence in pathology and laboratory quality systems.

With a strong foundation in oral pathology and laboratory medicine, he has consistently worked toward strengthening diagnostic standards, promoting oral cancer awareness, advancing oral pathology practice and encouraging scientifically sound, ethical and legally defensible reporting systems.

Delivered more than 50 invited lectures, keynote talks, workshops and academic sessions at national, regional and international platforms.

• Academic sessions covered oral pathology practice, oral cancer, OPMDs, hematology interpretation, CBC-based diagnosis, clinical biochemistry, medico-legal aspects, laboratory quality systems and future prospects of oral pathology.
• Delivered keynote lecture and hematology workshop “ABC of CBC” at the Zonal CDE Programme conducted by Dr. YSR University of Health Sciences, Andhra Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh State Dental Council.
• Delivered keynote lecture “Oral Pathology – An Insight and Future Prospects” at Manav Rachna Dental College, Faridabad, on National Oral Pathologists Day 2024.
• Delivered keynote lectures at Oral Pathology 360, including “Unveiling POPMA: Elevating Oral Pathology Practice in India” and “Tips for Success in Oral Pathology.”
• Delivered keynote lecture “Legal Aspects of Oral Pathology Practice” at the National Conference on Interdisciplinary Approach to Healthcare, Symbiosis International University.
• Served as Guest Speaker and Panelist at the Dr. D. K. Daftary Symposium on “Future Prospects of Oral Pathology” during the National Conference of the Indian Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathologists, Amritsar.
• Contributed as organizing team member, moderator and judge for scientific presentations at the International Oral Disease Case Presentation Conference 2024.

His scholarly profile includes h-index 8, i-10 index 5 and more than 168 Google Scholar citations. He has been associated with editorial and reviewer boards of more than 15 national and international journals and has served as Associate Editor of the Journal of Clinical Pediatric Dentistry.

Research interests include oral cancer, oral potentially malignant disorders, oral microbiology, clinical biochemistry, salivary diagnostics, infectious disease markers, hepatitis B serology, forensic odontology, odontometric analysis, lip-print analysis, digital pathology, artificial intelligence in diagnostic pathology, laboratory quality systems and medico-legal aspects of laboratory medicine and oncology.

• Gold Medal for overall proficiency in BDS and First Rank consecutively in BDS First Year, Second Year, Third Year and Final Year at Maharishi Dayanand University, Rohtak.
• Distinctions in 13 out of 18 BDS subjects and highest marks in Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Oral Histology and Dental Anatomy, Pharmacology, Microbiology and General Medicine.
• Received IDA-Colgate Scholarship during BDS and selected as Student Ambassador for Elsevier and Jaypee publications.
• Secured highest score in MDS University Examination in Oral Pathology and Microbiology conducted by JSS University, Mysuru.
• Received JSS University Research Grant for master’s dissertation and travel grants to attend National Research Scholar Meet 2014 at ACTREC, Tata Memorial Centre, Mumbai and National Education Summit 2014, Ahmedabad.
• Received Best Scientific Paper Awards at the 11th IAFO National Conference, Vijayawada, and 68th IDA National Conference, Bengaluru.
• Conferred with “Utkrisht Icon of Manav Rachna” in 2022, selected among the best 25 alumni from more than 34,000 students of Manav Rachna International University, Faridabad.
• Awarded Best Oral Pathologist in Haryana, 2018 by Pankosmia Talents of Healthcare Profession Awards 2019.
